Why Bitnami Premium

• You standardize on branches of Bitnami apps other than the latest ones. If you use long-term-support (LTS) branches of Bitnami application packages such as PostgreSQL or Apache Kafka™, you may want to upgrade to Bitnami Premium. Beginning in December 2024, the free Bitnami catalog will only include and keep the latest branches up-to-date. Bitnami Premium includes all branches supported by the upstream project, kept up-to-date with the latest application and operating system patches.
• You need SBOMs and other supply chain metadata. Do you get a lot of value from the free Bitnami catalog, but your security team needs to see more robust validation of what’s in your images? Or do you need SBOMs and supply chain attestations for compliance purposes? Bitnami Premium delivers those things in Docker Hub, right alongside the apps themselves, as OCI artifacts.
• You are hitting Docker Hub pull-rate limits or caps. If your developers and automated infrastructure collectively pull Bitnami apps from Docker Hub thousands of times per month, upgrading to Bitnami Premium could free up your Docker Hub usage quotas for other software and potentially save thousands of dollars per year. That’s because Bitnami Premium containers and Helm chart pulls are unlimited and don’t count towards those limits.
