Azure Edge Zones Enterprise

Microsoft

Azure Edge Zones Enterprise in an initiative to brings native Azure services, infrastructure, and operating models to virtually any data center, co-location space, or on-premises facility. You can use the same APIs, the same tools, the same hardware, and the same functionality across on-premises and the cloud to deliver a truly consistent hybrid experience. Azure Edge Zones Enterprise can be used to support workloads that need to remain on-premises due to low latency or local data sovereignty needs. The infrastructure is fully managed, maintained, and supported by Microsoft to deliver access to the latest Azure services.

Azure Edge Zones Enterprise gives you all the benefits of the Azure cloud, installed directly in your datacenter. Microsoft owns, installs, and manages the hardware, so you can get the benefits of Azure infrastructure, services, APIs, and tools with local latency and data residency.

Your Edge Zone Enterprise essentially operates like your own Azure region, with the same programming interfaces to build and run applications on virtual infrastructure like virtual machines and containers.
