Bring Your Own License (BYOL)

Contact Pivotal to obtain a Subscription license for Pivotal Greenplum that can be used in the cloud or for on-premise installations. Subscription licensing is based on the number of cores deployed. Please note that the Azure instance types below do not use hyperthreading so 1 vCPU equals 1 core for licensing.

Deployment

After Deploying a cluster, navigate to the Resource Group where the cluster was deployed and click on "Deployments". Find the Pivotal Greenplum Deployment and then view the "Output". All information regarding how to connect to the cluster will be provided in the Output section.

Storage Information

  • Standard HDD and Standard SSD options for all disks in the cluster
  • Root volume is 32GB in size
  • Master Instance has one data disk in multi-instance clusters and two disks in a single-instance deployment
  • All Segment Instances have two data disks
  • Master data disk(s) size can be sized from 500GB up to 16TB
  • Segment data disks size can be sized from 500GB up to 16TB
